Location:
Blue Ridge, GA
Additional Location Information:
The cozy cabin has two bedrooms and one full bathroom and is decorated adorably in mountain/fishing decor. It sleeps 4 in the two bedrooms and there is a futon that folds out in the living area that could sleep 2 more. The stone wood burning fireplace is wonderful (firewood is provided) and the cabin has central heat and air as well as ceiling fans to keep you comfortable year round. The small but fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals but there are great restaurants in both nearby McCaysivlle and Blue Ridge if you do not want to cook. There is a small dining table inside but you may prefer to eat outside on the porch overlooking the water. The porch also has a 5 person hot tub and rocking chairs.
Ernies is surrounded by mountain laurel as high as the tin roof and has a very secluded feel. The road to the cabin is gated and gravel but well kept. There is so much to do at Ernies. You can put your innertube in at Ernies and take the 1 and 1/2 hour float into nearby McCaysville. The river has some mild rapids which make it fun but enjoyable by families of all ages (life vests are always recommended). If you are looking for something more challenging, true whitewater rafting is available on the Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Olympics, just 20 minutes away. Need more relaxing? - just try out the hammock.
Ernies is the perfect riverfront mountain getaway. Many of our guests are repeat vistors who come back to stay each year. If Ernies is not available for your requested dates, be sure to checkout our other mountain top cabin called Panther Top located at the peak of Panther Mountain in nearby Murphy, NC. We also have Margaria down in Pine Mountain, GA - a great place to stay near world famous Callaway Gardens. Both of these cabins can be viewed on www.cabins.com.
